Flagship crying? New Samsung A8 or with Exynos 7420

All along, Samsung's Exynos flagship processors are the flowers of Kao Ling in mobile processors. However, the 2016 version of the Samsung Galaxy A8 has recently appeared on GFXBench, a well-known foreign-run sub-website. What is surprising is that its equipped processor is actually the Exynos 7420 with the same dual-flagship Galaxy S6 and Note 5 models as last year. It is worth mentioning that the Meizu PRO 5 released in September last year is also equipped with this flagship SoC.

In addition, the 2016 version of the Galaxy A8 also includes a 5.1-inch 1080P Super AMOLED display with 3GB+32GB of storage, a 5MP+16MP camera, and Android 6.0.1. As a whole, it seems to be almost on par with the configuration of the S6, and I do not know whether the actual experience will have a flagship standard.

The Exynos 7420 is Samsung's first 14nm FinFET process processor. It is considered by the industry to be the leading product of Qualcomm's one year, and its performance and power consumption are significantly higher than its predecessor Exynos 5433. It should be noted that although Samsung likes to adopt the "Qualcomm+Samsung" dual-processor strategy on its flagship, the Samsung S6/Note5 was an exception last year. Due to the lack of power from the Snapdragon 810, all S6/Note5 devices in the world are equipped with Exynos 7420.

In my opinion, Samsung hopes to further enhance the competitiveness of non-flagship machines in the market by adjusting product strategies, but such results may make the old flagship users less happy. Fortunately, Samsung's latest Exynos 8890 did not even give Meizu, a partner for many years. It seems that we would like to see the upgraded version of Exynos 8893 have to wait for some time.
